Key Performance Features
Cross-cut toe design provides superior ice grip during jump take-offs and rotational movements, enabling faster and smoother spins.
Delayed toe engagement is ideal for skaters who require precise timing and control during edge transitions.
Sharper edge curve (R2,000mm) compared to the Sora model allows for more aggressive turns and deeper edges.
Extended rocker profile, longer than the San model, supports fluid steps and turns that utilize skating momentum.
Compact toe size and delayed curve initiation make this blade perfect for skaters with advanced technical routines.
About YS blades:
Material Excellence: Tama Hagane Steel
YS BLADES are crafted from Tama Hagane, a premium grade of Yasuki Special Steel renowned for its use in traditional Japanese sword-making. Swords forged from Tama Hagane are celebrated for being unbreakable, unbendable, and exceptionally sharp—qualities that translate seamlessly into high-performance figure skating blades. This steel is still produced in the Okuizumo region of Japan using the ancient Tatara method, a traditional smelting technique with over a thousand years of history. By integrating this legendary material into modern blade design, YS BLADES achieve a rare combination of strength, precision, and glide.
Advanced Manufacturing Innovation
Each YS Blade is carved from a single 10 kg (22 lb) block of steel using a five-axis machining center. The final blade weighs just 280 g (under 10 oz), preserving only 3% of the original block. Unlike traditional welded models that may suffer from durability issues and product inconsistencies, YS Blades offer unmatched structural integrity and precision. Backed by over a century of expertise in steel and advanced metal processing, YS Blades deliver consistent support for skaters at every level.
Strong and Flexible Steel for Impact Absorption and Durability
YS Blades are crafted from rigorously tested steel that offers the ideal balance of flexibility and strength. This advanced material resists bending and impact while delivering exceptional durability. Combined with YS Blades’ original, precision-engineered shape, the blades absorb shock during jump landings, significantly reducing strain on the body and helping prevent injuries.
Skaters benefit from a remarkably smooth glide, allowing effortless speed buildup and sustained momentum between jumps and spins. Additionally, YS Blades require far less frequent sharpening compared to blades made from alternative materials, making them a reliable choice for long-term performance.
Precision Quality Control for Consistent Skating Conditions
YS Blades are manufactured in a temperature- and humidity-controlled environment, with quality controlled to within several tens of microns. This ensures uniformity across every blade, giving skaters consistent feel and performance in both practice and competition. Designed for longevity, YS Blades require minimal sharpening or replacement. When replacement is needed, skaters can trust that the new pair will match the exceptional feel of the previous set.
